Art 10
Art 10 is a hands-on course where you get to explore creativity while building foundational artistic skills. In this course, you have the opportunity to explore numerous visual art practices including drawing, painting, sculpture, mixed media, and visual storytelling. You will experiment with materials, develop creative problem-solving skills, and learn how artists communicate ideas and emotions through art.
Art 20
Art 20 builds on your previous art experience by helping you develop your personal style and creative voice. In this course, you have the opportunity to explore numerous visual art approaches including advanced drawing and painting techniques, composition, concept development, and media exploration. Students focus on strengthening technical skills while learning how to plan and communicate ideas through meaningful artwork.
Art 30
Art 30 is an advanced studio course focused on refining skills and creating portfolio-quality artwork. In this course, you have the opportunity to explore numerous artistic practices including independent project development, mixed media experimentation, conceptual artmaking, and professional presentation of artwork. Students learn to think like practicing artists by planning projects, reflecting on their work, and communicating ideas visually. This course is excellent preparation for post-secondary art and design programs.
